LUISE (2023)

World War I. In German Alsace, near the French border, lives Luise, a 24-year-old daughter of a farmer, alone on a remote farm. When Hélène, a young Frenchwoman, and Hermann, a German deserter hides in her house, her life gets out of control. Hélène's presence arouses feelings in Luise that she had never known before. As the two women get closer and discover their love for each other, Hermann feels increasingly excluded and abandoned. He pushes more and more between the two and tries to convince Luise that she is acting against the will of God. When the war is finally over, nothing stands in the way of Hermann's plan to marry Luise. But Luise sees her future elsewhere...
